This paper is for a review of the development of the superalloys for turbine blades produced by the various techniques. Single crystal turbine blades, which are introduced to enhance the engine efficiency, with thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) on the band coats to apply for the turbine components are explained. For the reduction ot thermal conductivity of the blades for the improved function of TBC, various reported parameters in recent papers such as materials and processes for coating, applications, durability issues, technical approaches and progress for improved TBC are introduced. The most recent research reports for new bonds with different compositions, thermal properties and void morphology for longer life with delayed failure and better performing TBC are explained. Also, some recent efforts to reduce the thermal conductivity of TBC, such as modification of the coating process and variation of the ceramic compositions. A suggerstion is proposed for the strategy of the domestic reseatch field for superalloy.
